Our happy little man here is none other than the Guide of the Jyusenkyo (land of mystery, ancient martial arts training ground, and just a bad place to go to). Everything will be fine, unless you fall into one of the springs. Whenever an unfortunate person gets a Jyusenkyo curse (by falling into a spring) the Guide cheerfully tells them of their fate. He even shows them a pretty little sign with the name of the spring.
